When you book your child's birthday party at the Best Western Port O' Call hotel,
we want it to be a hassle-free experience. Below is a list of frequently asked questions that we hope will be useful.

Can I bring my own cake?
You are welcome to bring in your own birthday cake from premises that are certified by the public health board,
ie: Safeway, Costco, or commercial bakeries. Unfortunately, due to liability concerns, homemade cakes cannot be brought in.
Do you supply plates and cutlery?
Yes, we do supply plates, plastic utensils, and napkins as part of your party package.

Can I bring in my own food?
As a full service hotel our business is to provide catering and service. The package option has various menu items,
if you have dietary concerns we would be happy to work with you to accommodate your needs.
Can adults, siblings, and grandparents join us at the party room?
Yes, they can join you in the party room and we would be happy to accommodate up to 80 guests on the pool deck.
How can I book a birthday party?
Please contact our catering specialist through email to enquire.
We recommend booking your party at least three weeks prior to the date of your party to ensure availability,
mutual commitment, and planning time.
Is a deposit required for birthday parties?
Yes, upon booking your party we require a down payment of $100.00. Please note that this down
payment is non-refundable. Final payment is due 1 week prior to party date.
Is a hotel room included in the party package?
Although rooms are not directly included in the package, rooms are available and we do offer a family rate plan.
We would be happy to plan a fun family weekend getaway. Please contact our sales manager for
more information or visit our website.
Do you provide towels?
Yes, towels are located beside the washrooms located in the pool area.
Where do we go upon arrival?
Upon arrival you will be greeted in the lobby by one of our employees who will be your host during your visit.
They will escort your group to the private party room, changerooms, and pool area. They will not be in the pool
area during your swimming session. However, they will come in 10 minutes prior to the time allotted in the pool
to make the announcement so that you may gather all the kids, change, and head to the designated party room.
Will a lifeguard be on duty?
Housekeeping employees do routine duties related to the pool area and changerooms. Supervision is
expected from guardians and parents. Children under seven years of age must be within arm's reach of an
adult at all times while in the water park area.
What is the assumption of risk waiver?
Assumption of risk means there is a certain level of risk of personal injury involved in participation of
some activities in the water park. All Safety Rules are clearly posted and must be read and understood by
all participants using the facility. Participants must meet our
expectations; adhere to posted safety rules
and regulations to avoid serious injury. Violators will be asked to leave the premises.
You will be given a waiver at the time of securing your Party. Guests are required to sign this document and
acknowledge they understand and accept the risks and responsibilities prior to entry into the water park. All
participants must read and understand the rules and regulations of the pool and slide usage. Failure to comply
will result in cancellation of the event.

Do you sell food or beverages in the water park?
Food and beverages are allowed in the designated water park area.
Guests are welcome to purchase snacks from our Coffee Garden located in the hotel lobby, which serves coffee,
smoothies, fresh baked cookies, muffins, a full service menu, and various snacks.
Can we swim without the meal?
Yes, as registered guests 4 wristbands are issued per room.
Can we decorate?
Yes, you are more than welcome to add your own special touch to the party! We just ask that aside from
birthday cake candles there is no open flame, and no holes are put in any of the walls.
Is the pool closed to the public while we are having our party?
The pool is open to any hotel guest staying with us or having a private party.
What are the hours for the water park?
Daily from 9:00 am - 10:00 pm.
